The Art Of Thrift Shopping

Looking amazing doesn’t always have to be expensive. We have examined thrift shops in 4 countries and we can definitely attest that “one person’s trash in another person’s treasure”! From vintage must-haves to every day modern wear, you can find whatever you want at an inexpensive price.

For some people thrift shopping is sort of a taboo. We don’t want to admit that we are wearing someone’s once beloved item. But nowadays, vintage is back in style. We see a vintage style tendency in some clothing stores; however, the original vintage goodies are in thrift shops. As long as you feel great in it and you are able to save a couple of dollars, the rest doesn’t really matter.

In “Value Village,” a Canadian thrift shop located all around the country, we were able to find incredible items. From vintage original Channel dresses to Marciano sweaters for as low as $14.99 and $5.99.

How to thrift shop effectively

Depending on the location, some thrift shops can be massive, which makes it harder to look through all the treasures that they have to offer. For those who love to practice “random shopping” or “the art of treasure hunting,” you should give yourself a good 2-3 hours or even half a day where you take the time to go through each items.

For the women who are fans of effective shopping, write down a list of items that you would love to buy and go for it. We can guarantee that you will find 90% of the items on your list. Another way to make your thrift shopping effective is to open your favorite fashion magazine, get inspired and try to reproduce the looks you loved the most.

Find everything that you love “cop it, wash it and go get some compliments” as Macklemore says. In most thrift shops you can find whatever you want; you name it, they got it. It’s easy, stylish and inexpensive: a woman’s dream!
