This season, Fashion Week boasted some of the most diverse runways the fashion world has ever seen.

Most recently (and most profoundly, given the brand), Dolce and Gabbana included a pregnant model in its matriarch-themed Fall/Winter 2016 show.

Titled “Viva la mamma!,” the show's collection was made with the mother in mind.

A child's scribbles served as the inspiration for graphic prints while dresses boasted embroidery professing the wearer's love for mom. Some garments even featured reproductions of mother-and-child paintings from the Byzantine Era.

But, the clothing wasn't really the focus of the show.

Nearly all of the models who walked the Dolce and Gabbana runway did so alongside their own children. One, Bianca Balti, even showed off a baby bump.

Surprisingly, it wasn't the first time a pregnant model walked the Fashion Week runway; both Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr took to the catwalks when they were pregnant.

Regardless, the inclusion of women -- real women with changing bodies -- is always something worth praising.

It reflects a step in the right direction for a brand notorious for whitewashing, and provides reason to believe bigger, more profound changes are underway.

That is something every fashion-loving mom would be proud of.
