Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels Auction

Tomorrow, December 5th, Sotheby’s will be hosting a “Magnificent Jewels” auction at their Upper East Side Auction House. The auction, which will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, will feature a diamond so magnificent, that magnificent may not even be an appropriate word.
Estee Lauder’s 47.14 carat yellow diamond, which was re-imagined at Van Cleef & Arpels in New York City, 1978, will be up for auction. The heart-shaped diamond was privately purchased by her dear friend the Duchess of Windsor, and was set in a pendant necklace.
How much does Sotheby’s wager this diamond will sell for? Between $1.5 and 2 million dollars.
