Proenza Schouler x Net-a-Porter

by Ally Batista

You know me, I love myself a good designer collaboration. Making designer’s high-end creations accessible to a larger group of men and women is the smartest thing a fashion house can do for their business.

Proenza Schouler is one particular design house that has been very busy this past year. The quirky, Man Repeller favorite brand has collaborated with a number of outlets this year, including Target. Their next collaboration? A just-released capsule collection created by Proenza Schouler for net-a-porter.com.

Net-a-Porter is a luxury e-commerce site that sells all of your favorite designers and then some under the same domain. How perfect? The site is a Mecca for fashion lovers everywhere.

The collection is small. Only nine products make up the collection, but don’t fret, they’re all completely covetable. Inspired by favorite items from the designers’ past collections, the capsule collection features board shorts, striped T-shirt dresses and color-blocked sweaters in cool, seaside hues; which will be guaranteed to give the wearer a sporty beachy yet chic vibe. Perfect for summer!

I personally love the contrast between the turquoise and yellow striped items. Nothing reminds me of being on a tropical vacation in the Caribbean more than that color combination. If you’re a high-end fashion-loving girl, Proenza Schouler’s beachwear is perfect for you. Not only do the designs look beachy and comfortable, but also they’re guaranteed to be luxurious.

Proenza Schouler designs always come with suede trim, leather cording, and custom tweed-esque accents, so this collection is guaranteed to be luxurious. Luxurious, unfortunately, also means pricey. This is by no means a high/low designer collaboration. One hoodie from the collection will set you back a cool $1,475.
