Moda Operandi’s Punk Capsule Collection Is Here

I grew up listening to the best ro

ck music around. By the time I was in middle school, my uniform consisted of studded belts, dirty converse sneakers, and band shirts. Now, I wear pearls and Ralph Lauren on a daily basis, but my heart is still set on the music I grew up loving.

This past summer when The Costume Institute announced that the theme for their 2013 exhibit would be centered on all things Punk, I was ecstatic. My middle school style persona would finally be relevant (unfortunately, I was born a bit after the whole ‘punk’ thing was deemed acceptable).

In honor of the year’s most iconic fashion exhibit, retailers around the world have been joining in on the punk fun. Moda Operandi, is one such company. Earlier in the year, the brand announced that they would be teaming up with 12 designers to help celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibition.

The collaboration resulted in a Capsule Collection, all thanks to contributions from designers such as Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Nicholas Kirkwood and Prabal Gurung. The collection is perfectly punk, featuring everything from leather harnesses (conveniently in fashion for this spring), Mohawk headbands, simple t-shirts and statement necklaces.

The pieces from the collection are limited edition and only available in limited quantities, so certainly don’t wait to shop.
