This past February marked the first Black History Month since the passing of groundbreaking poet Maya Angelou, who died in May.

Although Angelou is gone, artist Eunique Jones Gibson ensured the next generation will remember her importance by recording several young girls performing the icon's poem, "Phenomenal Woman."

The touching video is part of her continuing series "Because of Them, We Can," which previously featured children dressed as Latino heroes.

These are phenomenal women in the making.
