Lena Dunham And Jemima Kirke Bare Everything In Unedited Lingerie Photos
When you think of lingerie, the first thing that probably pops into your mind is a bunch of flawless Victoria's Secret Angels strutting down a runway.
If seeing the insanely perfect figures on these models makes you feel pretty bad about yourself, don't worry, you're not alone.
I think it's safe to say that most of us know we'll never look as good in lingerie as Adriana Lima.
But hey, that doesn't necessarily mean we can't all dance around in our underwear and be our own kind of beautiful.
Don't believe me? Just ask Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke.
These two talented actresses, who you may recognize from the hit HBO series "Girls," recently stripped down to their skivvies to make a powerful statement about body positivity.
Lena and Jemima appeared in several unedited images for Lonely Girls, and these ladies prove that you don't need any retouching in order to look simply stunning.
If you haven't heard of Lonely Girls before, it's a journal that challenges the standards of beauty by showcasing a variety of empowering women wearing Lonely Label lingerie in intimate spaces.
The images are part of a portrait series called the Lonely Girls Project, which aims to stop the objectification of women by showing unsexualized images of women in their underwear.
In a world where over-airbrushed models and heavy Instagram filters are the norm, it's certainly a breath of fresh air to see a few fearless women who aren't afraid to bare it all and embrace their bodies.
Lonely Label's account director, Sara Ganus, stated,
As an unconventional approach, Lonely aspires to showcase women wearing underwear in a way that we usually don't see in mainstream advertising and the media. Instead of being objectified, the women who participate in this journal series – in this case, Lena and Jemima – are empowered and exhibit real beauty that will hopefully help women everywhere feel a little more liberated. The brand also never retouches a single image.
If you ask me, I think we can all learn something about loving ourselves from these inspiring gals.
