We Tried Kylie Jenner's Lower Lash Mascara Hack And It Totally Works

So, when we found out about the mascara trick Kylie Jenner swears by, we had to give it a shot.

By smudging her mascara, the teen star creates a more dramatic lower lash look without the fuss of applying eyeliner.

We put her method to the test, finding out if Jenner's mascara hack is a beauty myth or actually the best thing ever.

Step 1: Apply your upper lash mascara.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, $24, Sephora 

Simple as that! Go with one coat for a more natural look and two to three coats for a more dramatic look.

Step 2: Smudge it out on your lower lash line.

Place the wand at the root of your lash line and gently wiggle it back and forth toward the base of your lashes.

The wand will touch the skin of your lash line, depositing a small amount of mascara. This should give the illusion of wearing a slightly smudgy eyeliner.

Step 3: As a comparison, apply mascara the normal way for the other eye.

In order to show the difference between using this hack and not, apply a standard, light application of mascara that does not touch the lash line at the base.
