Julia Restoin-Roitfeld is a French art director and the daughter of Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris. In addition to her modeling expertise, Julia has a wealth of knowledge in the fashion realm. It was inevitable that the Parsons’ graduate would go into the fashion field, but no one expected her to ever create a maternity line.

Well, she did just give birth to her baby, Romy, and if that’s not maternity inspiration, I don’t know what is. She’s really taking off on this whole being a mommy thing, what with her blog “Romy and the Bunnies”, on which she shares illustrations of Romy (no actual photos allowed) in cute outfits, favorite products (for mother and baby), and interviews with other stylish moms.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Julia said she intends to start a maternity line, in addition to adding e-commerce to Romy and the Bunnies. “Your body changes through the whole nine months. I’d like to be able to create a line that adapts to your body as you grow, and that you can maybe still wear after.” What a great idea!

Knowing Julia, these maternity clothes are going to be anything but boring and frumpy:

“It’s no secret I like to dress a bit sexy and body conscious, and as soon as I was pregnant, it was like it was not appropriate to dress the way that I dress. And that really annoyed me, in a way,” she says. “It’s a wrong message that dressing feminine and sexy and being a mother can’t go together.”

I know future stylish moms everywhere will be appreciative of this.
