Issa London x Banana Republic

by Robert Gordon

Leave it to Banana Republic to continuously update their preppy-for-grown-ups aesthetic with a continuous stream of adored collaborations. Right now, if you’re a classically dressed female, chances are that Kate Middleton is a style icon of yours.

The Duchess of Cambridge is famous for wearing affordable pieces (in turn selling them out like crazy), and she may be the inspiration for Banana Republic’s latest collaboration.

Some of you may remember Kate’s blue satiny wrap dress that she wore to announce her royal betrothal back in November 2010. How could anyone forget? The dress was in such high demand, that Issa London couldn’t keep up.

Banana Republic noticed this effect that the royal has on clothing items, and has just announced a 40-piece collection collaboration with the London based brand, set to be available in 700 Banana Republic stores globally and online starting on August 6.

The inspiration for this collection is Banana Republic’s safari heritage. The line, which will be priced from $39 to $150, will include pieces like kimono, wrap-tie and pleated dresses in a variety of prints and solids. African inspired accessories include gold nugget and cord necklaces, envelope clutches and patterned scarves.

If you’re a fan of animal prints, such as zebra and giraffe stripes, you’re in luck. The collaborative collection is said to have a modernized spin on such natural patterns.

We’re sure that this collection is set to do well. Banana Republic is notorious for churning out high-in demand collaborations, seeing as their Mad Men Collaboration is currently in its third season.

Will you be purchasing from this collection?
