Zac Posen: Spring 2013

by Ally Batista

Zac Posen’s Spring 2013 collection shown this week at New York Fashion Week blew almost everyone away. The collection, which looks as if it was made specifically for Blair Waldorf, embodies feminity and grace beautiful dresses and pantsuits.

Opening the show with modeling legend Naomi Campbell (who is known to have aided Posen in his ‘big break’) set the vibe for what would be a tremendous collection. The color scheme of the collection was simple: various shades of reds from dark to lights, various shades of white, black, gunmetal, and pops of green, orange, and light blue.

This collection was one of the most feminine I’ve seen with a heavy emphasis on ruffles, cap sleeves, fit and flare dresses, floral patterns, tulle, and magnificent ball gowns. This collection would best fit the die-hard girly-girl.

Even with it’s femininity, Zac Posen managed to channel the inner business woman. Peplum blazers, pant suits, suit skirts and palazzo pants made frequent appearances.

My favorite look:

How do you feel about this collection?
