Winter Break Travel Essentials

It’s Winter Break for many of us, which is of course an ideal time for us to leave our cold, wet, and frozen city in exchange for a warm relaxing beach. This time of year, fondly referred to as Resort Season by the high-fashion crowd, is one that many look forward to.

We’ve been stuck in a winter state of mind for a while, and many of us may not know what to pack for a winter getaway. I’m here to help.

Travel Day

Start your trip off comfortably. Opt for leggings and an oversized shirt with boots or wide legged linen pants with a striped sweater and flats. The key is to be comfortable, while still looking presentable. Leave your jewelry in your luggage, as it can be a pain to take off and put on in security lines.

Bring an oversized bag with you as your carry on, twist your hair into a topknot and you’re ready to get away.

Beach Day

The key to your winter vacation is to be relaxed at all times. Be sure to bring a good book or something to keep you entertained in a straw bag.

Wear one of these bathing suit options to the beach. Always remember your sunscreen and a spritz hair protectant. Add a straw fedora or sun hat for an extra accessory that proves to be fashionable and functional. Keep your footwear simple, as you’ll just be walking to and from the beach.

When Day Turns To Night

Going out to an outdoor dinner at night when it’s still warm out is one of my all time favorite activities. Wear a breezy maxi dress with an embellished clutch and a statement necklace for a comfortable meets casually appropriate look. Wear a lightweight cocktail dress in bright colors with contrasting jewelry if you’re attending a more formal function. Don’t be afraid to wear jeans a peplum top if dresses aren’t your thing.

What will you be bringing on your winter break vacation?
