Spotlight: The Ankle Strap Shoe

This time of year is really the most exciting for me. I love when the seasons are about to change: not only from a shopping standpoint but because I’m ready for a change of scenery. Fall is easily my favorite season and seeing fall trends in stores is such a relief.

This week, I’m putting the spotlight on the fall footwear trend that I most want to invest in: ankle strap shoes. I’m an old soul, always drawn to styles from the past, and an ankle strap is exactly that.

T-Straps, Mary-Janes, and pointy stiletto pumps have most certainly made a comeback. These shoes can be classic (in muted solid colors like the Jean-Michael Cazabat Zella T-Strap, $245.00, Bloomingdales: pictured above) or they can be modernized like this Rebecca Taylor Stiletto (pictured below: $295.00, Bloomingdales). The glitter and cut out ankle strap make the old school style fun again.

I would suggest wearing an ankle strap stiletto with a dress or skirt (these shoes are also perfectly paired with tights making them a solid investment for the colder winter months as well) or cropped trousers. A pair of jeans or longer pants wouldn’t do these shoes justice.
