Splurge Vs. Save: Contrast Sleeve Trench Coat

Although it’s still August, I’ve noticed the mornings and late afternoons becoming a bit colder than usual. This can only mean one thing: Fall is so much closer than I thought, and I have to say I’m eagerly anticipating jacket weather.

One of the most crucial pieces in any woman’s wardrobe is a trench coat. A trench coat is such an easy way to look classic and put together and I feel as if every woman needs one. Needs.

Earlier in the year Burberry released a leather sleeve contrast trench coat that sold out unbelievably quick. The leather sleeves added a modern and trendy twist to a timeless item, so I’m glad that many other brands decided to follow suit and create their own versions of the coat.

Splurge

This isn’t even much of a splurge, which makes it even more appealing. I’m not really a fan of much of Bebe’s clothing but this Mixed Media Trench Coat ($198, Nordstrom) is too good to pass up. The coat features faux-leather sleeves, a slim fit bodice complete with Moto zipper, tie belt, and flares out at the bottom. What’s not to love?

Save

Never doubt the power of Forever 21 when trying to find a copycat designer piece. This Belted Contract Trench Coat ($34.80, Forever 21) features six double-breasted buttons and black contrast color sleeves for a fraction of the cost.

How do you feel about contrast sleeves?
