Olympics Closing Ceremony Best Dressed Picks

The Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics were held in London yesterday, August 12. The ceremonies were, to me, more elaborate and eventful than the opening ceremonies and it seemed like much more attention was paid to fashion this time around.

Here are my Closing Ceremony best dressed picks:

The British Supermodels

Even though I can’t figure out how this segment of the closing ceremonies was at all relevant to the Olympics, one of my favorite parts of the closing ceremonies was the tribute to British designers.

British super models (Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell to name a few) posed in various gold dresses by designers Alexander McQueen, Erdem, Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Kane and Burberry to the background song “Fashion” by David Bowie.

I loved this portion of the closing ceremonies because the dresses were all stunning. Not only is gold such a regal color, the fabrics of the dresses all seemed to shimmer.

Kate Middleton

The always elegant and poised Duchess of Cambridge donned a blue Whistles ‘Bella’ dress for the Closing Ceremonies. I love how Kate stuck with her usual style for such a large and elaborate event. Kate has established her style over the years and has stuck with it not succumbing to outside pressure. What’s not to admire?

Another thing to admire: Kate has worn this dress before. The dress was worn to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham is flawless. Only she could pull off this dress of her own design.

Georgia May Jagger

Model Georgia May Jagger, daughter of the infamous Mick, wore this gold skater dress by Victoria Beckham.
