Marc Jacobs: Spring 2013

I personally consider Marc Jacobs to be a religion of mine. I worship almost everything he creates. Each piece is feminine and delicate and this season, his Spring 2013 collection shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was no exception.

A major trend of Marc Jacobs’ Spring Collection, I felt, was simplicity. He followed the same color scheme of black, white, taupe, fair browns and a berry red throughout the entire collection.

Thick vertical stripes were present in a majority of the collection with a few different patterns randomly making its way into the mix, still following the simple trend.

Texture played a major role in this collection: the fabrics seemed to have a satin sheen to them and sheer blouses were prominent. Ruffled feminine dresses we’re of course present in typical Marc Jacobs fashion. High ruffled necklines fit and flare dresses; along with Shirley Temple-esque baby doll dresses and the familiar maxi dress.

Another trend: blazers, below the knee skirts, and lots and lots of exposed midriffs.

My favorite look:

How do you feel about this collection?
