Macy’s x Made Fashion Week

by Ally Batista

Designer and retail collaborations have been a recent trend I’ve certainly gotten used to. It’s great to be able to purchase something designed by a luxury fashion house for a fraction of the price.

Macy’s has taken notice, but their latest collaboration is a bit different than your standard designer meets retailer collab. Macy’s is pairing up with Made Fashion Week to create a line inspired by fashion industry influencers.

Made Fashion Week, for those of you who don’t know, is a creative group formed by Mazdack Rassi (a Milk Studio co-founder) that connects and supports emerging talent. Made Fashion Week also helps put on multiple runway shows during New York Fashion Week and supports about 40 fashion labels.

What’s unique about this collaboration is that no designers will be aiding in the collaboration. The collection will be designed solely by creative types at Made and Macy’s merchants. The collection will be inspired by Models, artists, photographers, designers and bloggers who have a downtown New York feel.

The collection will be called Made Fashion Week for Impulse and will be available in stores and online on March 15th. The collaboration will be ongoing, with anticipated new merchandise available every month, or so.

The price range for this collaboration will be from $39 to $139, and will be shot by Terry Richardson.
