Earlier in the year, it was announced that the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s upcoming annual Costume Institute exhibit, which opens on May 9th, would be themed as “PUNK: Chaos to Couture.”
The exhibit will feature approximately 100 original vintage garments from the 1970s punk movement. These garments will be juxtaposed against the designer counterparts that they inspired.
The Met has just released photos giving us a little bit more insight into this fascinating exhibit. Pieces in the collection range from Versace to Johnny Rotten’s clothing to Karl Lagerfeld’s version of Sid Vicious.
