Christian Louboutin vs. YSL Suit Officially Over

by Ally Batista

The Christian Louboutin vs. YSL suit has finally, and officially, been put to an end. A Manhattan federal district court entered a final order on Thursday confirming that the shoe designer Christian Louboutin has no further claims against Yves Saint Laurent (YSL).

The 18-month long suit, which was over red monochrome shoes, has been back and forth. Many different claims were made, dismissed and confirmed. Louboutin does have a trademark on their famous red-soled shoes, which caused their problem with YSL’s monochrome red pump.

YSL was given permission to continue selling the monochrome red pump, which resulted in a lawsuit, a counterclaim, and then a drop of said claim. The suit was flip-flopping so much, we’re just glad it’s over.
