Painting my nails is one of my favorite pastimes. I’ve collected a small fortune worth of nail polish throughout the years, and I am known to rock the accent nail and dark colors more often than not.
I’m all about black and white, no grey areas, so it’s either dark and complicated nail polish, or nude tones. A big misconception with nude nail polish is that it’s plain. Hardly so, nude nail polish is classic and elegant. It can also be hard to pinpoint the perfect nude shade for your skin tone. Here are a few tips when it comes to choosing nude nail polish.
Olive Toned Skin
If you have olive toned skin, like myself, you should choose a yellow based nude nail polish to bring out the olive tones in your skin. (China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, $7.00)
Fair Toned Skin
If you’re fair toned, opt for a milky white or light pink shade of nude. (Sally Hansen Peachy Keen, $5.97)
Pink Under Toned Skin
Skin tones with pink under tones should choose nude polishes with pink undertones as well. (RGB Doll, $16.00)
Dark Toned Skin
If you have a dark skin tone, your nails would benefit from a rich mahogany color. (Sephora by O.P.I. Studs and Stilettos, $5.00)
