5 Reasons Why Strong, Badass Chicks Make The Best Friends
There is nothing girls love more than rallying their girlfriends when they’ve had a bad day, need to celebrate or are trying to mend broken hearts.
We basically use any excuse possible to hang out with our best girls, simply because they are awesome.
The older we get, the choosier we are with our friends. In your 20s, your girlfriends go through a lot of sh*t with you, and remain by your side, despite your long list of ex-best friends.
They are so great, they could basically be considered sisters. We certainly hope your pack of “sisters” includes a strong woman or two.
Lately, we’ve noticed our strong woman posse is growing, and we couldn’t be happier about it. We’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with some badass bitches who know their worth and don’t take sh*t!
These girls chase their dreams, don’t hold on to men who don’t fulfill their lives and basically don’t settle for anything that isn’t as fabulous as they are.
These girls are basically part superhero, part man-eater, part Oprah.
Think a softer version of Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada": She just runs sh*t!
Every girl needs to have at least one girlfriend who fits this description, and here's why:
1. She reminds you of your worth.
This girl validates you on how great you are and reminds you that you don’t need to deal with any BS in your life — ever.
Time is valuable, and we all need to be reminded of that occasionally. Whether you’re wasting your time on a dead-end job, dating a loser boyfriend or hanging with a friend who is just flat-out negative, your strong girlfriend is there to remind you that you are better.
2. She’s basically the parent we need.
She calls you to a higher level and holds you accountable. She encourages you to be better, to think larger and when you agree on it, you bet your ass she’s following up to make sure you’re actually doing what you said you would.
Remember that ex she encouraged you to swear off? There’s no way she will take lightly the fact that you are cooking him dinner. Following her advice keeps you in line and reminds you that what you think you want may not actually be good for you.
3. She is inspirational.
Your strong girlfriends who don’t take sh*t also live life to the fullest. They seek out opportunities to engage and improve their lives in every way.
Hang around them more and you’ll most likely start thinking outside the box on what you actually want from your life. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself living a happier and healthier life.
4. She leads by example.
You can trust her opinion because she practices what she preaches. Her opinions include a lot of thought and detail.
She hates hypocrisy, and she is truly a master of her own life and happiness. She ditches anything that doesn’t bring positivity to her. Who wouldn't want to follow the example of such a fabulous creature?
5. She always has your back.
Since strong girls don't waste their time on anyone they don't truly love, she is loyal.
When the time comes that you need a wing woman or someone to have your back in an argument, she’s the first girl who comes to your mind. Regardless of how annoying the term “ride or die” is, it definitely suits her.
If you have a badass bitch like this in your girl group, she is irreplaceable. She is everything a girl needs in a friend, and she is the friend we should all strive to be.
Imagine a world where all girls became these badass bitches? We would rule it! (But really, don’t girls already rule the world?)
