Flat abs are built in the kitchen and sculpted in the gym. You can do all of the cardio and crunches you want, but if you’re not following a strict diet, your stomach is staying just as it is.

Make these few simple changes to your diet, and your non-existent belly fat will thank you.

Incorporate More Fiber Into Your Diet

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has found that fiber rich foods help burn belly fat. Make sure you’re getting at least 25 grams of fiber a day.

Probiotics

Eating a cup of low-fat yogurt a day will help your body with its digestion. Avoid carbonated drinks as they cause belly swelling. This combination will keep your stomach toned.

Drink More Water

I always felt as if drinking a lot of water made me more bloated, but it turns out, I’m wrong. Too little water is actually the cause for stomach bloat. Your body only retains water if it’s not getting enough of it.

Eat Red Chili Peppers

Research has shown that chili peppers, which contain capsaicin, boosts your metabolism, which helps you burn belly fat quicker. Sprinkle some red pepper flakes on any of your meals for some added heat and supercharged weight loss.

Protein

It takes more energy for your body to burn proteins than it does to burn carbs or fats. Aim for about 80-90 grams of lean protein per day.

Green Tea

Studies have found that drinking two to four cups of green tea daily increases your metabolism by four to 10 percent.

Finally, eliminate all trans-fats, eat a hearty breakfast early on in the morning, and eat more often. Follow these simple rules, and a flat tummy will appear quicker than you think.
