New York Fashion Week is officially over, and after days and nights of pouring over every sumptuous design to grace the runways, we couldn’t be more excited to try the new trends out for ourselves.

But, fashion operates a full six months ahead of what's currently stocked in stores.

So, while we’re anxiously gearing up for spring’s warm arrival, the designs we fell in love with only last week are, in theory, meant to be saved until fall, even next winter.

Though there’s merit in planning ahead, we’re not much for following the rules.

We rounded up five of the top trends from Fashion Week to show you how to wear 'em now.

From leather to florals, we’ve got everything you need to be ahead of the sartorial game — because nobody ever got noticed for playing by the book.

Let It Shine

The Trend: Sequined everything

Seen At: Lisa Perry, Reem Acra and Prabal Gurung

How To Wear It: Tone down loads of sparkle with clean lines, loose fits and an effortless mentality. Sequins on anything too tight or low-cut reads more Miley, less Marilyn.

Fringe Benefits

The Trend: Fringed details

Seen At: Rachel Comey, Mara Hoffman and Rebecca Minkoff

How To Wear It: It's easy to go overboard à la Willie Nelson, so limit the fringe to one statement piece and keep the rest on theme (think suede, peasant tops, bell bottoms).

In Bloom

The Trend: Abstract florals

Seen At: Tanya Taylor, Diane Von Furstenburg and Karen Walker

How To Wear It: Like Miranda Priestly famously summed up, florals are nothing new. To add interest, look for abstract or oversized patterns and unique placements. Keep your look from reading too girly by sticking to sporty shapes.

What's The S(t)itch?

Seen At: Gary Graham, Tadashi Shoji and DKNY

How To Wear It: Too bad we didn't inherit Grandma's needlepoint skills. Stick to one color palette to keep the look from becoming too busy or overwhelming.

Mrs. Tough Guy

The Trend: Leather

Seen At: Alexander Wang, Altuzarra and 3.1 Philip Lim

How To Wear It: Everyone has a leather jacket. To stand out, look for interesting cuts, pieces and colors. Don't be afraid to throw a little punch (to your wardrobe).
