Airbnb Reveals Its Most Requested Listing, And It's Not What You'd Expect

Vacationers might assume the most sought-after Airbnb listing is abroad in an upscale neighborhood with out-of-this-world amenities... or at least has a connected bathroom.

As it turns out, globetrotters need not look any further than the U.S. for this in vogue destination. The most requested Airbnb listing is actually a simple tree house right in Atlanta, Georgia. So all of those European villas, celebrity-studded pads, and tropical escapes can take a back seat.

Though Peter Bahouth — who has worked with both the Turner Foundation and the U.S. Climate Action Network — built this tree house over 18 years ago, he never thought about opening its doors to strangers until Airbnb hit the scene. Though he was originally skeptical of sharing the space, Bahouth found a reason to list the tree house on the popular booking site.

"I began to realize that people were having these amazing, great experiences and it was meaningful [to them], and it therefore became meaningful for me," he told the Today Show.

For $375 per night, guests are treated to a holistic experience at The Secluded Intown Treehouse. The three separate rooms are meant to focus on the mind, body, and spirit, so this is definitely a perfect location for those in search of a peaceful retreat.

The tree house includes amenities like a roped bridge, wrapped around walkway, and rolling beds, according to Refinery29.

It's calm, serene, and the perfect place to catch up on some bestsellers. And let's face it: If there's any place travelers should go to recharge, a quiet spot in the woods is it.

It's certainly an interesting location, and has quite the effect on its guests, according to Bahouth.

"Sometimes, they leave after two days and they just look different — they look like they just needed to simmer down a little," he told the Today Show.

Though if you're looking for a break this summer, you might want to hold off — reservations for May 2018 have just opened, so now's the time to start planning next year's trip.
