WTF? Real Madrid Signs 16-Year-Old To Contract Of $6 Million Per Year

Think about the greatest thing you ever accomplished in high school. Now, realize it ain't jack compared to what Martin Ødegaard did yesterday.

Ødegaard, a Norwegian soccer prodigy, signed a contract with über rich Spanish club Real Madrid, with a salary that will have him earning more money in seven days than what you probably make in a year.

According to the Associated Press, which cited Spanish media reports, Ødegaard will earn just over $121,000 per week with Madrid, which comes out to a base salary of over $6.3 million per year.

The teenage sensation's signing was confirmed yesterday, with Madrid also agreeing to pay just under $3.5 million to Strømsgodset IF, the club that owned Ødegaard's contract rights.

Ødegaard just turned 16 last month, but he's already made three appearances for the Norwegian national team and 23 appearances as a professional for Strømsgodset.

Now, the kid who was born in 1998 will be earning more than some of our parents have during their lifetimes.

*Sigh.* Should've played soccer.
