Kevin Durant's New Sneaker Showcases The Evolution Of Basketball
If Kevin Durant is going to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past the ageless San Antonio Spurs and the seemingly unbeatable Golden State Warriors, he'll need a weapon worthy of the battle that is the 2016 NBA playoffs.
Nike's brand new KD8 Elite sneaker is that weapon.
KD's kicks for the stretch run of this NBA season are like nothing we've ever seen before. The shoe, created in part by designer Leo Chang, includes a calf-length compression sock to provide Durant with the ultimate comfort and support.
Or, as Chang puts it,
The KD8 Elite is conceptually designed to blur the lines between the shoe, sock and tight; seamlessly transitioning between each so you can't differentiate where one begins and the other ends.
And, let's be honest, aside from the ankle support, these sneakers look fly as hell.
If you want to play or, at least, look like KD, you can pick up the KD8 Elite white colorway on April 14 at nike.com. Additional colorways will be made available in May.
