MLB Star José Reyes Arrested For Reportedly Assaulting His Wife

According to reports, Colorado Rockies shortstop José Reyes was arrested for assaulting his wife at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii.

The incident occurred on Halloween inside the couple's hotel room, with reports indicating Reyes' wife, Katherine, told police her husband grabbed her off the bed, took her by the throat and pushed her into a glass door leading to the balcony.

Katherine also allegedly told police she suffered injuries to her neck, wrist and thigh. She was reportedly taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Reyes was arrested at the time of the incident and later released on bail.

Major League Baseball just released the following statement:

Major League Baseball understands the seriousness of the issues surrounding domestic violence, and our policy explicitly recognizes the harm resulting from these acts. Any action taken by the commissioner's office in this matter will be wholly in accordance with this policy.

The Colorado Rockies also released a statement.

The 32-year-old four-time All-Star previously played for the Blue Jays, Marlins and Mets.
