The Women Of 'Hamilton' Performing Feminist Quotes Is Way Too Badass

by Kate Ryan

No one can get you pumped for Women's History Month quite like "Hamilton" stars Renée Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

Bringing their Broadway talent to the words of feminist icons, famous quotes take on a fresh, new dimension. Starting with Beyoncé lyrics (naturally) and moving on to the blurbs of literary greats like Virginia Woolf and Margaret Atwood, the trio raps, sings and recites their way through quote after badass quote.

My personal favorite is this line from Simone de Beauvoir that they turn into a soulful, hip hop melody,

No one is more arrogant toward women, more aggressive or scornful, than the man who is anxious about his virility.

It works, trust me.

You might have to watch an ad for a brow "pomade" that's basically an overpriced brown crayon before you can view the video (posted above), but that's just the feminist struggle in a nutshell, y'all.
