9 Valentine's Day Specials You Need To Take Advantage Of If You're Broke

OK, real talk for a second. Why spend $200 for tiny portions and confusing silverware when you could spend $12 for a bucket of chicken and a selection of up to eight fountain drinks?

Sure, a Valentine's Day dinner at a fancy restaurant might be fun, but is it worth dropping half my paycheck on? Hell no! I need money to eat for the next two weeks, not just one night!

And I'm not about to ask my boyfriend to drop mad cash on dishes I can't pronounce either; I'd much prefer he pay the utilities bill on time instead.

What I'm getting at here is I'm cheap AF. For all you other cheap people out there, here are some more reasonable Valentine's Day dinners to treat bae to this weekend.

1. KFC

Apparently, a KFC in the United Kingdom is having a Valentine's Day special featuring table service. This will include cloth napkins, flowers, waiters and a bucket of chicken on a raised stand. I only wish this glorious idea made its way into the US this year so we Yanks could participate, too.

2. White Castle

White Castle is now accepting reservations for Valentine's Day dinners, and the restaurant recommends you get them in soon, presumably to avoid a crowd. This makes perfect sense to me as I always maintained the "Harold & Kumar" movies tell epic love stories.

3. Waffle House

A number of participating Waffle Houses will romance up their restaurants with mood lighting and even live music in some locations. FYI, Kim and Kanye go on dates at Waffle House, so it sounds like a pretty dang classy V-Day date spot to me.

4. Starbucks

If you're really feeling cheap, you can just skip dinner altogether and go for a Valentine's Day coffee date instead. Starbucks recently rolled out its Valentine's Day drinks -- Molten Chocolate Latte, Molten Chocolate Frappuccino and Molten Hot Chocolate -- which frankly all sound delicious.

5. Shake Shack

No joke, if you bring a date to Shake Shack this Valentine's Day you get a FREE SHAKE! You have to buy a shake, too, but still. I definitely would not say no to a shake as my valentine.

6. Qdoba Mexican Eats

Qdoba is offering a free meal with the purchase of one meal if you kiss someone (or something) at the register on Valentine's Day. This can apparently be your significant other, a friend, a stranger or an inanimate object. I mean, it's no Taco Bell, but I'm in.

7. Krispy Kreme

From now until February 15, Krispy Kreme is selling some dope valentine-themed doughnuts shaped like hearts, hugs (O's), kisses (X's) and a "Luv Bug." Not gonna lie, I would be totally smitten if someone gave me a heart-shaped pastry.

8. Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is reportedly offering heart-shaped pizzas from now until Valentine's Day. I think that'd be a romantic dinner option, even if it sounds pretty cheesy. Eh? EH? Pizza puns, anyone?

9. Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits

Bojangles.com

Bojangles' is offering Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits this Valentine's Day. Sounds cute, cheap and delicious to me!

Happy Valentine's Day, ya filthy cheapskates!
