Touching Note Left For Muslim Neighbor On Inauguration Day

Now that Donald Trump is the president of the United States, people who have been targeted by his misogynic, homophobic and anti-Muslim views must stick together.

Whether it's marching for a cause or lending a helping hand, supporting one another during this trying time in history is essential to the well-being of those affected by his policies.

On Inauguration Day, a touching note was reportedly left on a Muslim man's door in Cincinnati, Ohio -- and it's sure to give you faith in humanity again.

The person who wrote this note addressed it to their neighbors, writing,

Today begins a new stage for our country. No matter what happens, please know that there are still a lot of people who will fight for your right to practice your religion, to continue to live your lives without discrimination. You are welcome in our neighborhood and if you need anything -- please knock on our door.

Alas, a human being who GETS IT.

To be honest, I think everyone should write notes like this and leave 'em on their neighbors' doorsteps. The world would be a much kinder place.

The photo of this letter was shared on Twitter by a Muslim woman whose uncle received the note.

Her tweet already received over 200,000 likes, and people are replying to the letter with compassion and respect.

The caption to the photo says,

After the Trump inauguration, some neighbors left this letter on my uncle's door in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Whoever wrote this deserves a goddamn round of applause.

Hend Amry, the woman who tweeted the photo, replied to her post early this morning and praised her uncle's neighbor for writing such a powerful note.

She said,

This is the America that took us in as political refugees, the America that gave us a new home, and the America that keeps my hope alive today.

It's true. This note certainly restored my hope in the country, and everyone can learn from it -- especially right now.
