This Service Will Pay $10K For Your Wedding, But Under One Condition

by Stacey Leasca

Getting married is a sacred, blessed event.

It's a day to celebrate your everlasting love surrounded by your family and friends. It's also a day the average couple drops a cool $26,444 to say, "I do."

Weddings are becoming ridiculously expensive, but one company is hoping to change all that by offering to pay for your nuptials.

Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, of course, there's a catch.

SwanLuv, a soon to launch site, essentially acts as an insurance policy on your wedded bliss.

Couples interested in having their weddings paid for can submit their relationships for review by the company. The company will then determine how much it is willing to shell out for their big days (up to $10,000).

That money is all yours to use as you wish, but if you ever get a divorce, you will have to pay it all back -- with interest.

The interest rate will vary by couple, based on a compatibility index set by the company.

SwanLuv CEO Scott Avy told GeekWire,

It comes back to statistics. We'll have the right odds so we'll be OK. But they won't be so crazy that no one wants to do it... I'm betting on my relationship I've established with my soulmate… It's going to be a no-brainer for the ones it makes sense for.

Avy added there will be other stipulations in the contract including one party becoming solely responsible for paying back the debt if the relationship ends over abuse. The company is hoping to fund its first wedding in early 2016.
