Watch This Robot Actually Solve A Rubik's Cube In Less Than 2 Seconds

by Kate Ryan

For those who need a solid week to solve a Rubik's Cube, prepare to feel worse about yourself. Two Kansas City engineers have built a robot that can solve the boxy puzzle from hell in less than two seconds -- 1.2 seconds, to be precise.

NPR reports, the robot accomplishes this insane trick with a special cube that has small holes drilled into its sides so the robot can maneuver it. It then uses an algorithm called Kociemba to plan out the moves and solve the puzzle almost instantly.

Now that we know this is possible, hopefully, engineers will come up with a robot that can organize my life in two seconds flat.

Watch the video of this futuristic feat above. Try not to blink in the first 10 seconds, or you'll definitely miss it.
