Everyone's Sharing Their Favorite Viral Vines In Honor Of The App's Death

Vine

Today, we join hands and remember Vine.

Twitter pulled the plug on the video app and confirmed it will be completely shutting down over the coming months.

It was only launched in 2013, but those three years of laughter will live long our memories (until the next awesome app comes out and we forget all about Vine).

Vine confirmed the death in an ominous tweet.

But everyone else is celebrating the loss by sharing the most lol-worthy Vines on Earth. Let's take a walk down memory lane:

Goodbye, cheesecake.

Adios, "OUTTA NOWHERE!!"

Farewell, Darth Vader.

So long, thrasher kids.

Good riddance, creepy singing kid who'll forever haunt our nightmares.

RIP, gross, peeing guy.

See ya never, adorably illiterate girl.

Peace out, Duke boys.

Our heart bleeds for you, playground pet.

We'll miss you, "Pirates of the Caribbean" booty hunter.

Later on, RAIN DOWN IN AFRICAAAA pup.

The Vine team said in a statement,

Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Today, we are sharing the news that in the coming months we'll be discontinuing the mobile app.

The team said nothing will happen to the app today — so your Vines are safe for now.

Vine is keeping the website online, so you'll still be able to access and download your Vines. If anything chances, you'll be notified.

The Vine team signed off with a thank you.

To all the creators out there -- thank you for taking a chance on this app back in the day. To the many team members over the years who made this what it was -- thank you for your contributions. And, of course, thank you to all of those who came to watch and laugh every day.

RIP.
