This Guy Casually Caught A Pokémon While His Wife Was Giving Birth

By

Ladies and gentlemen, it appears humanity might have taken this whole Pokémon Go craze to the next level. Ever since Nintendo released the new Pokémon app for the iPhone, the world just can't get enough.

The most recent Pokémon Go addiction story belongs to a man named Jonathan Theriot who actually caught a Pidgey while his wife was just about to give birth. According to BuzzFeed, Jonathan caught the Pokémon as his wife Jessica awaited a C-section while giving birth to the couple's third daughter.

Here's the glorious screenshot. Ash Ketchum would be SO proud.

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, Jonathan revealed,

As soon as it popped up, I was like, oh my gosh, there's a Pidgey sitting on your bed! So, I screen-shotted it, then caught it and showed it to her.

If you know anything about Pokémon Go, or Pokémon in general, you know this was a pretty big deal for Jonathan!

She wasn't mad at all. She just kind of laughed at it. It was primarily an eye-roll once she realized what I was doing.

Theriot originally posted the photo to Imgur where he racked up over 770,000 views. The best part about this Pokémon Go miracle? The comments left by fellow Imgur users are fucking hilarious!

So, what how did the Internet react to Jonathan playing Pokémon Go while his wife Jessica gave birth? Comically, of course!

A few users completely understood why Jonathan just had to catch this Pidgey at such a delicate time.

Why? Well, simply because they can relate!

Some users even suspected that maybe the Pidgey is the baby...

Others? They weren't too fond of Jonathan's taste in footwear.

A few comments even hinted that maybe playing Pokémon Go while your wife is giving birth isn't the best decision...

While they do have a point...

Shortly after Jonathan caught the Pidgey, the couple gave birth to their third daughter named Ireland Sage Theriot.

All is well. No harm, no foul. Welcome to the world, Ireland! And long live Pokémon Go!
