"Incense Bae" Is Here And He'll Make You Forget How Much You Loved Salt Bae
Do you guys remember Salt Bae? You know, the fetching young butcher who took the internet by storm with his very impressive knife and salting skills? Well, he has a new competitor who hails from Japan and has been dubbed "Oshoko Bae" -- aka "Incense Bae" -- and he's definitely the next Salt Bae.
Oshoko is the Japanese name for a type of incense, and Chikai Matsuzaki (Oshoko or "Incense" Bae) has risen to popularity on Twitter for the appealing way he sprinkles his incense. Incense Bae is a 41-year-old Buddhist priest who hails from the Eimyouji temples in Kitakyushu, Japan, Buzzfeed reports.
Incense Bae decided to emulate the pose made famous by Nusret Gökçe, aka Salt Bae. He told Buzzfeed,
I wanted to recreate the sunlight exposure as in the original photo, so it was a race against the clock. I was thinking of taking a video too, but gave up because the pose was too difficult. To cut meat and sprinkle salt with that pose in a video, you know Mr. Nusret's sexiness is is the real deal.
And that, my friends, is how Incense Bae was born.
Incense Bae posted his photo to Twitter on July 19 in an effort to get people excited about Buddhism, and has since received more than 10,000 retweets, 7,000 likes, and many comments.
I bet all this bae talk has got you wondering what Salt Bae has been up to since early 2017 when he became internet famous.
He's been seasoning the Statue of Liberty...
Working out...
Posing for sexy pictures...
And of course, doing what made him famous in the first place!
Let's hope the power of social media will get Salt Bae and Incense Bae together to film an epic video where one salts meat and the other sprinkles incense. A girl can dream, can she?
