Guys Live-Tweet Cops Showing Up To Their Airbnb, Assuming They Broke In (Photos)

by Gillian Fuller

Picture this scenario: White folks in a nice Southern neighborhood go out of town. Neighbors see African-American strangers enter the vacated house. Cops show up.

What happens?

Typically, the scenario may not end well. But this isn't your typical story — it's a f*cking awesome story.

So, as you can probably guess, the story begins when a couple from Decatur, Georgia left their house for the weekend. They'd put the home up on Airbnb and rented it out to Stefan Grant, aka rapper “STEFisDOPE,” and four friends who were in town for the A3c Music Festival.

So, Stefan & co. show up at the house, and they're settling in when the cops roll up. Apparently, a neighbor had seen them and assumed — likely, because they're all African-American — the guys were robbing the place.

Stefan live-tweeted the whole ordeal with the cops, who he says “handled [the situation] really well.”

They even ended up with a group selfie (with the police!) by the time the cops left.

It just goes to show: Not all cops are assh*les.

And it was a pretty nice house, so the guys were excited.

Little did they know, cops were on their way.

Apparently, the neighbors thought they were robbing the place.

The neighbors weren't the coolest...

Yo! Why did one of the neighbors just straight walk in the crib to "check things out"? — Trill DeGrasse Tyson (@STEFisDOPE) October 9, 2015

But the cops were surprisingly chill.

2 sets of Dekalb County cops pulled up on us but, they were super chill & just doing their job so I don't have any complaints. — Trill DeGrasse Tyson (@STEFisDOPE) October 9, 2015

They even posed for a selfie.

Yo! The Air B&B we're staying at is so nice, the neighbors thought we were robbing the place & called the cops! pic.twitter.com/XUQjuyCXMO — Trill DeGrasse Tyson (@STEFisDOPE) October 9, 2015

#NoRegrets (or, just a few).

The only thing I regret about the cops coming is that I didn't get them to dab for the selfie — Trill DeGrasse Tyson (@STEFisDOPE) October 9, 2015
