Every Party You Go To Can Have Its Own Snapchat Geofilter Thanks To New Tool

There are three apps that every partygoer must have: Uber, Instagram and, of course, Snapchat for real-time uploads.

Snapchat's many filters already make it addictive, but its new feature that lets users easily make custom geofilters takes it to the next level.

Geofilters are important. How else would your friends know you went to a music festival or traveled to an incredible destination?

Earlier, you had to have image editing software in order to make your own filter. But now, this new Snapchat tool makes it super easy for you to create your own custom filters on the web.

You can now create one for a gathering at work, a big college party, a wedding or really, any event. Hell, I could even create one for my apartment while I binge-watch TV on Netflix.

For now, you can make custom geofilters from your desktop here. First, you choose a theme based on the event. Then, you can personalize it with different colors and text.

The only thing is, you have to make the filter a day in advance so that Snapchat can approve it.

Also, it's not free. A geofilter starts at $5 for 30 minutes at 20,000 square feet, and can go up from there. The maximum distance the geofilter can go is 5 miles.

Obviously, some businesses create great geofilters that last for days and cost thousands of dollars. But for a party, I think the $20 for two hours is worth it. Also, it would make a pretty dope gift if the party is hosted by a Snapchat fan.
