Country Singer Craig Strickland Is Still Missing After Hunting Trip

On Sunday, Craig Strickland, frontman for the country band Backroad Anthem, and his friend Chase Morland set off to go on a short duck-hunting adventure in Oklahoma in the midst of winter storm Goliath.

Before leaving, Morland tweeted the following message.

When Strickland and Morland didn't return home at their set time, the family quickly gathered a search party to find them.

Sadly, Morland's body was recovered near Oklahoma's Kaw Lake where the pair's boat was also found capsized. Strickland is yet to be found.

The search for Strickland continued on Monday and will continue throughout Tuesday. Strickland's wife, Helen, also tweeted.

Helen additionally shared,

Craig's dog Sam has been found. His boat has been confirmed as being capsized. They are still searching for Craig. Please keep praying.

Strickland's band has also been keeping fans updated on Facebook. In one post, the band wrote,

Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland. They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss. Randy Strickland (Craig's father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety.

Gellco Outdoors, a sporting goods store in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Morland worked, also posted a remembrance on its Facebook page on Monday, which was since deleted. It reportedly read,

Chase lost his life in a duck hunting accident in Ponca City, Ok. Our prayers and sympathy go out to the Morland family during this time of loss. We ask all of our customers to remember this family at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Morland and Strickland families.
