A Sassy Little Chihuahua Led Cops On A High-Speed Chase

On Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol participated in a high-speed chase across San Fransisco's Bay Bridge, led by an unexpected perpetrator: A chihuahua.

According to reports, the pointy-eared black pup was spotted sprinting across the bridge, as a motorbike-mounted police officer followed. The high-stakes game of chase spanned the entire length of the bridge, ending only when the doggie, distracted, was finally captured by the California Highway Patrol.

Instead of bringing the pup, nicknamed “Ponch” to central barking booking — which might have been too ruff for such a tiny fella — an officer brought him to San Francisco County's Department of Animal Care and Control, where he will remain for a week as a lost dog.

If unclaimed in one week's time, lil' Ponch will be put up for adoption.
