This Adorable Photo Of A Cat Is Getting People Banned From Facebook

Better warn that one aunt that constantly posts cat pictures and memes onto her Facebook feed -- she may just be banned for posting this particular one.

Just kidding, I'm fear-mongering. Unless your aunt lives in India, she can keep posting those adorable kitties day and night.

She's simply just smitten with kittens.

Varun Krishnan, a Chennai-based tech blogger, said that he was locked out of his Facebook account for sharing the photo of this cat:

BGR

This is understandable. If I was working for Facebook and I saw this image, I would also ban whoever posted this screaming cat with a man's body who is wearing a suit. It is terrifying.

Krishnan spoke to Mashable India about being banned, saying,

It might sound stupid but this just happened to me. I was chatting with friends, got one cat image on WhatsApp, it was so cute that I sent it to a friend.

"Cute," Krishnan? Sounds suspicious to me...

He knew something was amiss when Facebook asked him for his password again. He added,

Before I realized, my devices were getting logged off. Even on PC, Messenger notified me that my Facebook account has been disabled. My photos, my Facebook Ads account, they wiped my presence off Facebook in a matter of seconds for a cat photo.

What sort of haunted image IS THIS?!

Facebook didn't say the reason as to why this was happening with accounts that shared this haunted image.

Is it because of the blurred text off to the side? WHO KNOWS! We do, because some users tried to alter the image without it and they were banned too.

Facebook has since reinstated Krishnan's account and apologized. The only explanation they offered was the following:

Our team found this was a mistake & have restored your account. We're sorry for the trouble this caused you.

I suspect it is because the cats who work at Facebook were sick and tired of being mocked.
