Inspiring Barbie Ad Teaches Girls They Can Be Anything They Want To Be (Video)

by Stacey Leasca

In her 56 years on Earth, Barbie has had some serious career highlights.

She's been a doctor, an astronaut, a teacher and even the president of the United States. But still, people want more out of her. Not only does she need to be career-driven, but she also needs to inspire.

And now Mattel, the maker of Barbie, wants to show the world just how inspirational Barbie can be.

The toy company wants little girls everywhere to play with Barbie and "imagine the possibilities."

In a new viral ad campaign shot via hidden cameras, five little girls act out their future career dreams as a professor, a veterinarian, a soccer coach, a museum curator and a jet-setting businesswoman.

It really holds up to what Ruth Handler, the creator of the Barbie doll, once said,

My whole philosophy of Barbie was that through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices.
