Wheelchair-Bound Teen Shocks Graduation Audience And Walks Across Stage

by Sean Levinson

Virginia's Parker Hall was confined to a wheelchair three years ago following a devastating car accident.

He was told there was less than a 5 percent chance he'd ever walk again, according to Daily Mail.

But he pushed himself so hard in physical therapy, by last year, his family set a daunting objective for his graduation.

Parker's mother, Miriam, told FOX 5 DC she recalled saying,

One way or another, he is going to walk across that stage.

Parker's physical therapist wheeled him up to the stage for C. D. Hylton High School's commencement ceremony on June 7.

The audience gave the 18-year-old a standing ovation as he stood up and, with the help of a cane, crossed the stage to receive his diploma.
