This Rat And Dog Are The Strangest Best Friends You've Ever Seen (Photos)

When choosing a pair of pets, many animal lovers opt for one small and one large animal.

That's certainly the case for Mickey Alice Kwapis. She owns a Dutch Shepard dog and a rat, and they're best friends.

On an Instagram dedicated to this friendship, Kwapis documents the daily adventures of her therapy dog, Osiris, and Riff Ratt, his polite companion.

Osiris plays gently with his rodent friend.

The pair live in Chicago.

Their owner, Kwapis, is best known for her public dedication to taxidermy.

So, it's only fitting she owns a rat and a canine named after the Egyptian god of the afterlife.

She often fosters animals seeking long-term homes...

...which means Osiris and Riff Ratt play nicely with others.

Riff Ratt even helps groom his canine buddy.

Riff Ratt seems to love tennis balls, just like any dog companion would.

It's like the two are straight out of a Disney movie.

It's especially cute, considering 3-year-old Osiris is very much Riff Ratt's senior.

The little rat is just about 3 months old, according to Instagram.

Big brothers always look after their younger siblings.

Honestly, it's almost too cute.

Osiris and Riff Ratt are partners in crime.

And we wouldn't have it any other way.
