Man With ALS Says 'I Love You' To Wife For The First Time In 15 Years (Video)

by Emily Arata

Don and Lorraine Moir married 26 years ago. Don, who suffers from ALS, hasn't spoken for 15.

With the help of Not Impossible Labs, an organization dedicated to creating open-source healthcare technology, and the SpeakYourMind Foundation, which helps people with speech disabilities, Don was given a second chance to speak.

He used the opportunity to tell Lorraine how much he loves her.

This incredible mini-documentary, created for Valentine's Day, shows the process of designing a new "mouth" for the father of three, who relies upon a throat-blocking ventilator for air.

Thanks to the power of technology, Don finally has the ability to verbalize his feelings.
