A man stricken with a devastating birth defect is ready to reveal his condition to the rest of the world.

Greater Manchester's Andrew Wardle, 40, was born with testicles but no penis.

He has kept the rare abnormality secret from most of his friends, relatives and even his long-term girlfriend.

Only recently did he decide to come clean for TV network TLC in the aptly named special, "The Man with No Penis."

The special was filmed over 12 months and explores how Wardle's condition has affected his love life, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Wardle told UK talk show, "This Morning,"

My first girlfriend was really nice and understanding. We went out for four years and it was not a problem. It may have been if we were together in the future but we were only 15 so it wasn't.

Wardle claims to have had sex with over 100 women though it isn't clear how.

He says 20 percent of the women he's been with were made aware of his condition, and one actually punched him in the face upon hearing the news.

Wardle said,

I guess she was angry as she felt like I had lied but it's not something you can say right away.

"The Man with No Penis" is also dedicated to Wardle's preparation for a medical procedure, which if successfully completed, will give him a fully functioning penis for the first time in his entire life.

Doctors will construct the organ out of his skin, blood vessels and nerves from his arm.

Tune into TLC UK on June 11 to watch Wardle's emotional quest toward the life-changing surgery.
