Man Nearly Loses His Arms After Using Drugs To Look Like The Hulk

by Sean Levinson

A Brazilian man is lucky to be alive after becoming addicted to muscle-building injections.

Daily Mail reports Romario Dos Santos Alves discovered synthol three years ago after hearing about the oil and alcohol cocktail at the gym.

His biceps grew to 25 inches, but the muscle was turning to "rock."

Alves used needles made for bulls when his skin became too rough for penetration.

The chronic pain and horrified stares from the public soon got the best of his mental health.

Alves recalled,

One time I was working in a catholic church and a woman came up to me and said that her 12-year-old daughter wouldn't come in because she was afraid of me. She said that she thought I was a beast, a monster - I just put my head down and didn't say anything.

Alves attempted suicide and lost his job when his wife was six months pregnant. So, he decided the only way to stop his addiction was to have his arms amputated

Luckily, doctors were able to save his limbs by removing the synthol "rocks."

He has since gone two years without using synthol and is striving to become a bodybuilder.
