ISIS Member Says There Will Be A Terrorist Attack On NYC During Interview (Video)

by John Haltiwanger

Abu Usamah Somali, also known as Farah Shirdon, is a Canadian citizen who traveled to Syria to join the Islamic State (ISIS).

In a somewhat notorious video released by ISIS, he vowed to destroy the United States and Canada while ripping up and burning his passport.

It is believed that Shirdon died during fighting in August, but reports recently surfaced that suggested otherwise.

In an exclusive interview (above), VICE News spoke with a member of the Islamic State.

This man is believed to be none other than Abu Usamah Somali, the 21-year-old Somali-Canadian turned jihadist. Thus, it seems he may be alive after all.

Through social media accounts associated with Abu Usamah, VICE was able to able to arrange the video conference, which occurred on September 23, 2014 and was released today.

What's perhaps most shocking about this interview is how normal this young man seems.

He could literally be anyone walking down the streets of New York City. Likewise, the man contends that thousands upon thousands of Westerners have traveled to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS.

Moreover, he claims ISIS has thousands of Western prisoners it could behead. Perhaps most chillingly, the man states:

I know so many people, thousands upon thousands... that are living in the west, that are ready right now to make an operation in your land. We will stop when we behead the leaders of the infidels.

Additionally, the ISIS member professed his desire to fly the Islamic State flag over the White House, right before the interview cut out.

This video was released on the same day that the Iraqi prime minister announced he had received intelligence from Baghdad surrounding an "imminent" ISIS plot to attack subways in both the United States and Paris.

Accordingly, this is all extremely disconcerting. While US intelligence officials do not feel these threats are very credible, they certainly merit continued attention.
