Woman Earns A 4.0 And Receives Surprise Proposal From BF At Graduation (Video)

by Gillian Fuller

Graduation ceremonies, while important, are notoriously boring.

Ashley Nelson's, however, was unforgettable.

Nelson was on the stage receiving her diploma from Bridgewater State University when the president, Dana Mohler-Faria, made a strange announcement: She told Nelson someone in the audience would like to ask her a question.

Baffled, Nelson accepted, likely assuming the stranger's question had something to do with her outstanding academic performance, as she was graduating with a 4.0.

But it wasn't a stranger who came to the stage. It was her boyfriend, Josh Tillinghast.

With his eyes on Nelson, Tillinghast took the mic and bravely announced,

Ashley, you're my best friend in the world. I love you so much. I feel like we were made for each other… With your father's blessing, will you marry me?

Nelson, utterly surprised, accepted, wiping away happy tears as the audience broke into applause.
