by Sean Levinson

A young Michigan girl saved her home from a potential robbery with the help of a very intimidating weapon.

According to Michigan Live, the 11-year-old was home alone Friday afternoon when she heard knocks on all of the doors in the Lapeer County house.

Not receiving an answer, the suspect then broke into the home.

The intruder began inspecting the home and soon found the girl hiding in a bathroom closet.

She was holding a shotgun in position to shoot.

The suspect immediately ran away, exiting the home and driving off in a car that had been parked in the driveway.

Police responded to a call at around 3:45 pm and were able stop the vehicle roughly 30 minutes after the suspect left the home.

Inside the car was a 53-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, and both were taken into custody without trouble.

They are currently awaiting formal charges at Lapeer County Jail.

The girl was not hurt during the break in.
