6-Year-Old Battling Cancer Gets Surprise Superhero Bedroom Makeover (Video)

by Gillian Fuller

At just 3 years old, Kaiden Martinez was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

The Waukesha, WI, resident underwent a stem cell transplant and a year of chemotherapy and medical treatments. Now 6 years old, Kaiden is finally in remission.

To celebrate the child’s superhero strength, the Wisconsin chapter of Special Spaces, a charity organization, recruited over a dozen volunteers to turn Kaiden’s bedroom into a superhero-themed haven.

The team decked Kaiden’s room out with Batman and Superman posters and Batman bedding, and they even gifted a Christmas-worthy spread of toys to the brave child.

The Waukesha local news channel covered Kaiden’s touching story in a short segment, which you can watch up top.

Head to Special Spaces to learn more about the charity organization, including how to nominate a deserving family and how you can help through donations and volunteer work.
